Centering Lines

As with our A3, A4, and A5 presses, this press is equipped with exclusive centering lines. For the A2 size, these lines feature a different visual style designed specifically for easier textile printing and other large-format materials. The laser-engraved lines form an X shape and are designed for quick and precise centering on the lower press plate.

Fastening Clips

The A2 press includes metal fastening clips, which are an excellent add-on for printing on textiles and other materials that tend to shift during printing. Thanks to these clips, you can confidently print across the full A2 format, with secure and easy material fixation.

Two Levers for Optimal Comfort

Like every lino print press we make, the A2 textile lino press features two levers for optimal comfort during printing. This allows you to lean into the press with both hands placed on the handles above the plate. The levers offer minimal resistance and smooth movement, ensuring even pressure when pressing down.

A2-Size Textile Printing Press

The A2 lino press is popular among artists as the largest model in our range. Its design is ideal for printing in various sizes, styles, and printmaking techniques. This size is ideal for learning textile printing, linocut, block printing, woodcut printing, letterpress, plant pressing, and more.

It is perfectly suited as a tabletop printing press, home printing press, or studio printing press.

Print to the Edge of the Press

The lower plate is larger than the top plate, creating additional space for attaching the included fastening clips. This setup makes it easy to print textile materials without worrying about material movement. At the same time, it allows for high-quality linocut printing right up to the edges of A2-sized formats.

Even Pressure, Every Time

A relief printing plate with a total thickness of 48 mm ensures even pressure across the entire printing surface. The two-lever mechanism further supports this thanks to its smooth operation and excellent usability. The natural cedar color of the plates also complements the organic tones of the rest of the lino press.

Adjustable Tilt

The top plate of our lino press features an adjustable tilt mechanism, allowing you to move and lock the plate into the optimal position. This ensures the plate always rests evenly on the matrix and paper during relief printing. Simply loosen the side adjustments, set the desired tilt, and tighten the plate back into place.

Highly Durable

Our lino presses are built with a powder-coated steel frame, making them both highly durable and easy to maintain.

The machine is constructed using 5 mm thick flat steel bars and has a total load capacity of up to 100 kg.

Non-Slip Setup

A lino press must remain completely stable while pressure is applied. That’s why all of our linocut presses are equipped with rubber strips on the bottom, providing slip resistance and protecting work surfaces from damage. In addition, each press features mounting holes in the base for secure attachment to a workbench or table.

Free Gift with Every Purchase

With every lino press purchase, the felt included with the press is provided free of charge.

We select a felt that is both durable and optimally thick to ensure even pressure across the entire surface of the lino press.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

What printing techniques can be used with an A2 textile printing press?

The main technique this linocut printing press is designed for is textile (fabric), linocut, or woodcut, provided the block thickness does not exceed 3 cm / 1.18 inch. Thanks to the versatility of this printmaking press, it is also possible to experiment with a wide range of techniques. A popular option is block printing using natural materials on textile (fabric) or paper, which offers interesting and unique effects.

Which materials can be printed using an A2 textile printing press?

This A2 lino printing press is designed mainly for printing on textiles, including T-shirts, hoodies, and bags, such as cotton, linen, silk, and blended fabrics. There are no specific limitations, and it is recommended to experiment with other possibilities. Thanks to its robust construction and high pressure, this relief printing press also enables high-quality results when working with other materials. Of course, the press is still suitable for traditional paper linocut printing, but its construction and size are primarily designed for printing on fabrics.

Which ink works best with this textile print press?

For fabric printing with this lino print press, textile inks are used, as they are durable and resistant after washing. Most commonly, textile acrylic inks are used because they are thick, provide good coverage, and are usually fixed by ironing after drying. They are suitable for cotton, linen, silk, and blended fabrics. Another option is oil-based textile inks, which offer richer color and higher durability, although they dry more slowly and must be handled carefully to prevent the ink from hardening during printing.

What is the maximum thickness of the matrix I can print on the textile press?

Our hand printing press is designed to handle materials up to 3 cm thick. This makes it ideal for printing woodcuts, engravings, letters, and various other matrices, providing flexibility for a wide range of projects.

Can I print small matrices on a larger press?

Absolutely! Our relief press is designed to accommodate both small and large matrices. For smaller matrices, we recommend positioning them in the center of the press. You can even print multiple smaller matrices at once, as long as they are of the same thickness. This allows you to maximize your time and resources when working with different projects on your block printing press.

What can be used to clean the textile press of ink?

To clean the lino press after printing, we suggest using rubbing alcohol or turpentine oil, especially if you’re using oil-based inks. For water-based inks, water or soapy water will suffice to clean the press. Proper cleaning will ensure that your lino printing press stays in great condition and is ready for your next project.

Is the press suitable for dry needle / gravure printing?

Although our relief press can handle smaller formats of dry needle or gravure printing, we recommend it primarily for linocut printing, monotype printing, and similar techniques. With gravure printing, especially on larger formats, the results might not always be as tight as with a press specifically designed for that purpose.
