Our printmaking roller features NBR rubber, which is popular among artists for its flexibility, smooth surface, and long lifespan. The material is both durable and highly resistant to oils and chemicals, as well as tearing or cracking. At the same time, it can withstand hundreds to thousands of hours of ink printing.
For at home relief printmaking, this linocut roller makes a welcome addition to any studio workspace. This is in part because of how easy it is to clean. The rubber surface fairs great against any ink, and cleans quickly. More importantly though, it binds colors perfectly, promising smooth ink transfer for any printing.

Do you have any tips on the inks that work best with your ink rollers?
We recommend using oil-based inks with our ink rollers for the best results. Oil-based inks have a thicker consistency compared to water-based inks, allowing them to adhere better to the surface of the roller, and then to your matrix. This creates richer, more vibrant colours when using your print roller for linocut or other techniques.
What is the durability of your ink rollers?
Our ink rollers are built to last with a solid metal construction, a shaft and roller running on covered bearings, and a hard oak wood handle. The NBR rubber we use is the same durable material found in industrial machines, which means our rollers are designed for thousands of rotations, ensuring a long lifespan and consistent performance.

Cleaning your print roller is simple. After use, we recommend wiping the ink roller with a dry cloth. For oil-based inks, wash the ink roller with a solvent like turpentine or mineral spirits. If you’ve used a smaller amount of ink, you can often roll the ink roller on paper to remove the excess before washing.
