When the Ritualis arrived, the box had been ripped open at the corner during shipping and some of the styrofoam had spilled out. I was afraid that it might be broken, but the packaging and the workmanship saved it. It operates smoothly! I love it!
Excellent Results on my first prints with this press. I am using a thicker rug pad instead of the provided "felt". Getting wonderful prints.

I had used barens for about two years before I found this press and since I am not using fine paper (e.g. Awagami) most of the time I had many misprints, which was frustrating. The press changed not only my success rate, it is also very helpful for printing older, uneven blocks perfectly AND it is small enough so I can take it to my workshops. I am actually considering getting a second one because the students like it, too :o)

Piękny ręcznie wykonany baren. Na pochwałę zasługuje dosłownie wszystko. Aspekt wizualny idzie w parze z techniczną perfekcją. Do moich zastosowań posiada odpowiednią wagę, praktycznie niemalże nie trzeba go dociskać, płynie po linorycie jak kaczka po wodzie. Trzeba dodać, że zapakowany został do klimatycznej drewnianej skrzyneczki, co ułatwia przechowywanie, która na dodatek cieszy oko. To był wyjątkowo udany zakup.
Woodcut Printing
Woodcut is a type of relief printing where an artist carves an image into a wood block, usually with gouges. The parts that remain level with the surface hold the ink and create the print, while the carved-away areas don’t. The block is cut along the wood grain (unlike wood engraving, which uses the end-grain). Ink is applied using a ink roller (brayer), covering only the raised areas, leaving the carved sections blank.
